In this example we are going to create a new custom field in work order tracking application. And then we are going to attach a lookup to select existing people records.
- Create a new Table domain in Domain Application
- Domain: myPersonDomain
- Object: PERSON
- Validation where clause: personid = :myCustomField (same name as field in application)
- Now create a new custom attribute in WORKORDER object using Database Configuration
- Attribute: customfield
- Run database configuration
- Domain: myPersonDomain (newly created in step1)
- Now Drag/Drop and new text box in workorder tracking application using application designer and set Textbox properties
- Attribute: CUSOMFIELD
- Lookup: PERSON
- Go to Application: PERSON
- Menu Type: NORMAL (this will change the lookup magnifier to arrow keys)
